"I am very happy that the perfoming arts group has been formed to preserve the Tibetan Performing Arts traditions"

Kating Noryang Lodro Tsokpa, known as 'Lodro Tsokpa', is a Tibetan Performing Arts Group created to preserve, support and continue the traditions of Tibet.

AIMS & ACTIVITIES

Our aim is to preserve the music, song and dance traditions of Tibet which have been handed down from generation to generation for many hundreds of years. These graceful dances and songs which accompany them, have a deep spiritual significance and can be regarded as a form of yoga which is beneficial for both mind and body. We wish to train young musicians and dancers who will be learning these songs and dances as well as creating new ones with original choreography. People will be accepted for training without discrimination as to age or origin. If you are interested in Tibetan culture, the Tibetan songs and style of dance or would like to learn for your own enjoyment we would appreciate your support. All are welcome!

Courses are available with an authentic introduction to Tibetan folk dancing and singing in this ancient and colourful tradition. Lodro Tsokpa was founded by Dolkar Lhamo who teaches group Workshops and Master Classes as well as giving Public Performances. Regular classes take place most Saturday evenings at Samye Ling Monastery & Tibetan Centre and everyone is welcome. Please check with Lodro Tsokpa to make sure there is a class when you intend to visit.
